RITZVILLE, WA – May 14, 2025 — Avel eCare, a pioneer in telemedicine services across rural America, proudly announces its first Emergency partner in Washington State: East Adams Rural Healthcare (EARH) in Ritzville. The Avel eCare Emergency service officially went live at EARH on April 3, delivering vital support to a remote area in need of reliable access to high-quality emergency care. “We’re thrilled to welcome Avel eCare to the EARH family,” said Corey Fedie, CEO of EARH. “This partnership adds a new layer of expertise and support to our already outstanding emergency department. By expanding our access to specialized care, we’re better equipped to serve our patients and community, especially when every second counts.”

Located in eastern Washington, EARH serves a town of 1,700 people and a broader service area of more than 20,800 residents. The facility is a critical lifeline for patients who often face long transport times to major medical centers such as Deaconess and Providence in Spokane or Samaritan in Moses Lake. With limited staff—1 RN and 1 NAC in the ER 24/7, and a single physician or APP on-call with a 20-minute response time—EARH now benefits from immediate virtual access to Avel’s board-certified emergency physicians and experienced clinical team.

EARH’s emergency department is equipped with Avel’s telemedicine technology, strategically positioned to provide direct visibility to the area designated for the most critical patients. This setup ensures a seamless connection, even in challenging environments, and supports approximately 100 ED visits per month.

In such a remote area, where the nearest major hospital is a 30-minute helicopter ride away, Avel’s presence fills a vital need. The surrounding landscape and healthcare access challenges make this service indispensable for EMS teams responding in the field, allowing for earlier assessment and faster decision-making.

“Launching in Washington is an exciting milestone,” said Don, Chief Revenue Officer at Avel eCare. “Our mission has always been to stabilize and support rural care. EARH exemplifies the kind of forward-thinking partner we love to collaborate with—committed to delivering exceptional care, no matter the geography.”

With this launch, Avel eCare continues its national momentum in equipping rural facilities with the tools, technology, and clinical support needed to meet today’s healthcare demands. This milestone further underscores Avel’s commitment to increasing access, improving outcomes, and supporting the clinicians who care for America’s most underserved populations.
