Dr. Janell Simpkins serves as the Medical Director for Avel’s Behavioral Health service line. She is a board certified internist and a fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Simpkins has over 30 years of experience practicing medicine. As Avel’s medical director, Dr. Simpkins overseas providers across multiple specialties as well as the Behavioral Health services. She enjoys working with patients to better understand their unique medical needs and putting the clinical pieces together to solve diagnostic puzzles. Dr. Simpkins completed her medical education in internal medicine training, at the University of South Dakota. She started with Avel in 2017 and helped to develop and implement providing specialty care to patients served by Indian Health Services across five states. Dr. Simpkins residents in Washington.
